The Art of Friendship is…

Working together? A banana split with two spoons? Swinging side-by-side at the playground? What is the art of friendship to you?

Today is the book birthday of Louise and Andie: The Art of Friendship, Kelly Light‘s sequel to Louise Loves Art (2014, Balzer + Bray). Kelly is a special person to many of us at All The Wonders, and Louise is a special girl to not just us, but many, many readers of all ages. To celebrate, we invited some of Kelly’s friends (and their beloved book characters) to don Louise’s iconic red glasses and say a few words about what the art of friendship means to them.

Feel free to download and share these images over Facebook, Twitter, and your other favorite social media outlets. Use the hashtag #ArtOfFriendship when you share, and considering sharing a quote or drawing of your own!

Kelly Light lives in New York but grew up down the shore in New Jersey, surrounded by giant pink dinosaurs, cotton candy colors, and Skee-Ball sounds. She was schooled on Saturday morning cartoons and Sunday funny pages. She picked up a pencil, started drawing, and never stopped.

Kelly is the author/Illustrator of the Louise series. Louise Loves Art (Fall 2014) and Louise and Andie, The Art of Friendship (Spring 2016) are the first two books in the series.

Kelly has also illustrated Elvis and the Underdogs and Elvis and the Underdogs: Secrets, Secret Service, and Room Service by Jenny Lee, and The Quirks series by Erin Soderberg. Visit Kelly Light online at kellylight.com.
