Christopher Denise’s illustrations are stunning. Some are warm and tender. Some are breathtaking and epic. All are crafted with care. I loved uncovering the mindset behind his images. Enjoy this talk with the amazing visual storyteller who brought us FIREFLY HOLLOW (written by Alison McGhee) and BAKING DAY AT GRANDMA’S (written by his wife Anika Denise).

  1. Guys, this is one of the most amazing podcasts I’ve ever listened to. Right up there with Matthew Winner’s “Beekle” podcast with Dan Santat. Incredibly moving and full of the passion for this INCREDIBLE ART of picture books. Thank you SO much! And I am SO going to possess FIREFLY HOLLOW, whether it’s through your giveaway or off the B&N shelf 😀 😀 😀

These stunning illustrations capture our love of these magnificent little bugs and we share the same dream as Firefly..to fly to the moon! I love how the four friends embark on their journey’s together thru this big scary world. We can’t wait to read this gem of a tale! Great job on the book and the wonderful podcast.
