  2. I waited ’til I finally received BE A FRIEND from the library. It took a while because it’s in demand! This is SUCH a beautiful book πŸ˜€ To me, its palette is reminiscent of Loren Long’s gorgeous “Otis” books. I loved getting to know more about you, Salina. I know we all have different tastes and opinions when it comes to things like awards (since we have them), but to me, this is the type book I think of when I think “Caldecott.” No aspect of it is forced to fit the most recent climate of what people expect or demand. It is timeless πŸ˜€
